wow! on the same day as the release of the book. very admirable of you greg. So happy about this episode. I’m 70 pages into real magic and I figured I’d see if there was a new podcast cause now its 3 am and I like to listen to them as a I fall asleep. what a great surprise that the newest episode would feature dean himself. Besides the actual science going on in the field of parapsychology, there is also a substantial amount of posturing and misinformation about parapsychology. Some people believe that parapsychology is involved with reading minds and telling the future. Other people believe that parapsychology is about finding bigfoot or ufos.

The Paranormal Science and Parapsychology Degrees cover all aspects of paranormal research and parapsychology giving students a broad base of knowledge. This course also includes training in Ufology so students are cross-trained in all aspects of paranormal research. A survey of psychology textbooks reveals that where the topic of parapsychology is not completely neglected it tends to be misrepresented, giving the impression that its findings are unsound. The writers of such books tend to argue that the case for parapsychology is a matter of personal belief, and that ‘psychic’ effects disappear under.

Parapsychology, science or magic. Oxford ; New York: Pergamon Press, (OCoLC) In the most recent large book, which is a state of the art book on psi research called A Handbook of Parapsychology for the 21st Century, the word ‘magic’ doesn’t even show up in the index.

Parapsychology may be defined as the scientific study of paranormal phenomena. The elements of this definition require some elaboration. Psychical Research and Parapsychology. Parapsychology entered into its fully scientific phase with the founding of the Society for Psychical Research in Britain in Parapsychology is still considered as pseudoscience by the scientific orthodoxy, however there is no justifiable or truly scientific reason why this is the case.
